You may pay an extra fee for Saturday delivery. All orders for Saturday delivery must be received before Thursday night.

NOTE: We reserve the right to delay shipments as needed. You will receive email notification if your order has been delayed and what the new expected delivery date will be.

Why is shipping so expensive?

For the benefit of the animals, we only ship using Priority Overnight Delivery with either Fedex or UPS. Shipping fees are averaged so that everyone pays the same amount. When you take into consideration the shipper fee, the packing materials and the credit card fees associated with the charge, we do not profit from the shipping fees.

Why do you leave your "Out of Stock" animals on the website?

We leave most of our "out of stock" inventory on the website. This may give the appearance of an extremely large operation but we leave those up there for two very important reasons. #1 It serves buyers by allowing them to sign up for email notification when the animal(s) they really want are back in stock. You don't have to keep coming back to check for stock and you won't miss the animals you've been waiting all year to purchase. #2 This notification list also helps us know what to look for so we are able to provide what our visitors want most. You have the option to hide the out of stock animals on our site with the click of a button.

When do you update your online listings?

We receive shipments all the time but we usually update our online listings on Monday evening. If you don't see the specific animal you are looking for then we didn't have it last Monday. The best way to keep track of what we get in stock is to sign up for our convenient "back in stock notification system" You'll find the link under the out of stock button on the species pages. And rest easy knowing we will never give out your email address to anyone... ever!

What if I place an order and you don't have it in stock?

Chances are very good that we have what you need in stock. We encourage you to go ahead and place your order when you are ready. If we don't have what you ordered in stock, we will send you an email telling you so. At that point, you can choose one of the following options:

  1. Choose to have one shipped to you as soon as we get it back in stock. Your purchase will be placed on backorder.
  2. Substitute another animal.
  3. Receive a full refund including shipping fees and any taxes (or a partial refund if you ordered multiple animals and would like the remaining in stock animals to be shipped to you).

Can I order over the phone?

You must order through our website. We do answer emails pretty well though. We want your business but we also want to be an Internet company. Please don't take this personally.

When are you going to get more of that animal in stock?

We won't be able to answer this question outright. The truth is we can't keep up with what we said to who.  Our ordering system is very complex and highly chaotic. It changes multiple times every day with lots of suppliers. We have orders in with suppliers all the time, sometimes waiting months to get something in.

Shipments (especially overseas) are delayed and changed all the time for various reasons including customs, disease, miscommunications, etc. We are dealing with individuals all around the world on live animal issues. What could be more unreliable than that.

However, we are among the best at it and will continue to do everything we can to stay that way.

What age is an animal? or When was it born?

For Wild Caught animals, one can only guess as to an age so we list baby, juvenile or adult according to the field collectors estimate + our own years of experience. We do not track the age of all our animals but almost all of the ones we are calling adults have just reached what is considered adulthood. Our suppliers don't sell animals whose normal lifespan is more than half over without letting us know in advance.

What types of payments does GeneralExotics.com accept?

We accept all major credit cards and Paypal.

What do your snakes eat? What is their feeding schedule?

The snakes are feeding on live pinkies, fuzzies and rats depending on the size of the snake. Most of them are feed weekly unless circumstances require otherwise.

Can I pick up my animal rather than have it shipped?

All orders must be shipped overnight to your door. Our suppliers' facilities are off limits to the public and we do not house any animals at our offices in Moore, Oklahoma. We apologize if this is an inconvienience.

Do you ship overseas?

No, we do not ship overseas. Sorry Canada and Mexico, this means you also.

Are those the actual pictures of the animals you are selling?

The images used on our website are a representation of that species. The actual animal you receive may vary since we are talking live animals with genetic variations. We do our best to provide images that most accurately reflect the species being sold.

Can I request photos of what is available?

We can provide a healthy, great looking specimen for your collection. However, if you are needing individual pictures we do not provide these, nor are we set up to track individual specimens. If you require individual pictures I understand. We are not able to provide this level of personal service. If this is important to you, we recommend visiting a local show or contacting an individual breeder. Just be careful about who you deal with please.
