#1 We guarantee your animals to be alive and outwardly healthy upon arrival and for 7 days afterwards.

#2 We guarantee your animals to be quality specimens with all body parts in good shape.

#3 We guarantee your animals to be properly identified and (where applicable) properly sexed.

Note: We do not provide these conditions to be harsh. We have them in place in order to provide a fair and equitable transaction for both you and GeneralExotics.com - to be honest, we just want to be protected against dishonest individuals. If you are fair and understanding of us, we will show the same respect to you. We want your future business and greatly value your satisfaction and praise.

Dead on Arrrival (DOA)

If an animal arrives DOA, General Exotics will ship a FREE replacement at no additional cost to you.

Provided you have met the conditions of our guarantee (listed below), you will receive One FREE replacement.  You must meet the conditions of our guarantee as set forth below. No cash refunds will be given on DOA orders unless we no longer have the animal in stock. 

** Our guarantee includes One (1) free replacement animal per animal ordered. If the replacement animal perishes, we will refund the purchase price of the order.

Conditions - Your Commitment

#1 PICTURE - Provide Proof

You must take a picture of the deceased animal for confirmation purposes and our shipping box label MUST be included in the pictures. The best way to do this is lay the deceased animal on top of the shipping label (the box your order came in). If you don't have a camera, do not expect us to honor our guarantee. Please keep the animal until your FREE replacement has been approved.

#2 Notify Us by Email

You must notify us by email immediately upon opening the box. If we do not receive an email on the delivery day, we will move into the second part of the guarantee.  The sooner the better. Very very important. Our guarantee is only valid if you report any problems with the delivery and/or animal(s) within the guarantee period.

#3 Be Home for Delivery

We do not guarantee animals that are not delivered on the first attempt. Someone must be there for the delivery. If you would like the shipment to be left at a shipper facility for you to pick up after school or work, please let us know in the comments section of your order. We will let you know which shipper we will be using for your order and you will need to provide the shipping facility where you would like to pick up your package. Note that this applies to Saturday delivery also.

#4 Provide a Good Shipping Address

You must provide us with an accurate and valid address. Failure to include important details of your address will void the guarantee.

Extended 7 Day Guarantee

We provide a 7 day Guarantee but it is a little different than our DOA guarantee. If your animal arrived alive but perishes within the first 7 days, we will provide ONE FREE REPLACEMENT, however the additional shipping costs are your responsibility. If we do not have a replacement animal in stock, the animal cost will be refunded, however, the shipping fees will not be refunded.

We've also been known to issue a 50% credit on another animal if your animal perishes within a reasonable time frame beyond the 7 day period. Just ask.

Things We Do Not Guarantee

Just for your information, here are a few things we do not guarantee at any time.

#1 We do not guarantee that your animal will look exactly like the picture provided on the website.

#2 We do not guarantee that Wild Caught (WC) or Captive Farmed (CF) animals will be free of parasites or other unseen internal and external issues.

#3 We do not guarantee that your animal is the exact size representated on the website. Sizes are ballpark. If you require a very specific size, please let us know in the order comments.

#4 We only guarantee sexing when the options to select Male/Female REQUIRED are present.  In these instances sexing of babies is a best guess effort and we do not guarantee the accuracy of our selections.

Your order is a legally binding contract. By placing your order you acknowledge that you have read, fully understand, and agree to our terms of sale. We are not responsible for customers that ignore these terms of sale.
