Red Eyed Tree Frog, Lutino Morph for Sale

Red Eyed Tree Frogs (Agalychinus callidryas) are colorful, arboreal frogs native to the rainforests of Central America. Their bright colors have made them popular in the pet trade. Their most apparent physical feature is their red eyes. Their dorsum and legs are green, and the sides of their body are striped in blue and yellow. In addition to their bright red eyes, they also have bright orange feet with large toepads that they use to climb with. Mature male frogs also call. Red eyed tree frogs are completely nocturnal and are not active during the day unless they have been disturbed or happen to notice food.

Size of a Red Eyed Tree Frog

They are a medium-sized tree frog, and adults usually range in size from 2 to 3 inches (5 cm to 7.6 cm), with males being smaller than females. Mature male frogs also call.

Crickets, flies and mothes coated in calcium and vitamin powder.

Caging Requirements for a Red Eyed Tree Frog

Housing/Habitat: They should be housed in a tall, humid tropical terrarium with branches and leaves to simulate an arboreal habitat. The terrarium must be well ventilated and humidity should be kept around 80%. Ventilation can be controlled through the use of a screen aquarium top and an air pump to run fresh air into the terrarium.

Lighting: Specialized reptile lights for viewing nocturnal animals would be a good choice. Avoid basking type lighting, which would dry out the terrarium and be detrimental to the frogs.

Temperature: Day 78° –85° Night 66°-77°

Water: A bowl of clean, dechlorinated water should always be available. Mist daily with dechlorinated water. 

Humidty: Humidity can be controlled with frequent misting and a glass canopy partially covering the screen.
