DOA Extended 7 Guarantee

General Exotics conditionally guarantees the animals to be alive, healthy, and to your satisfaction upon arrival and for 7 days afterwards.

We are proud of our performance record in live shipments. Our 98% success rate is among the best in the industry. Your complete satisfaction is our goal! We have three packers with over 30 years of experience between them. Two of them have been with us for 17 years each. Our experience and expertise is put to good use when we select the specimens for your order. We check and re-check all animals before they go out but sometimes (rarely) things are missed.

The General Exotics Guarantee

Your order includes a three-part guarantee: Health, Identification, and DOA + 7 as described in detail below.

If you are not satisfied and the conditions of our guarantee have been met you will receive a store credit for the purchase price of the unsatisfactory animal(s). The shipping fees will only be credited if there is a problem related to our Outward Health Guarantee (#1 below) or Identification Guarantee (#2 below). Shipping fees are non-refundable on all animals that die within the live guarantee period. The store credit can be used at any time to have replacement or substitute animals shipped to you.   

Notification (Very Very Important)

Our guarantee is only valid if you report any problems with the delivery and/or animal(s) within the guarantee period. None of our guarantees extend beyond the 7th day so it is very important that you contact us with any problems.

#1. Outward Health Guarantee

Our health guarantee is an outward health guarantee only. As a general rule, we do not guarantee what we (you) cannot see. All internal issues would fall into this category. We do take care of our animals and have many years of combined experienced doing just that. We also have one of the best vets in the area that visits weekly and we do exactly what he tells us to do.  Please understand that there is no guarantee that the animals are free of parasites and we recommend that you take your new animals to an experienced vet for a checkup within the first week.

In the unlikely event you notice something wrong with your animal when it arrives that we didn't catch, take some pictures and let us know immediately by email what you have observed. If things go from bad to worse, our guarantee will remain in effect beyond the guarantee period. Missing legs, eyes, tailes, sores, cuts etc. are all part of this guarantee.

#2. Identification Guarantee

If you receive an animal that is different from what you ordered, take pictures and contact us immediately. This includes the species and the sex. We will issue you store credit for the total order price.

#3. DOA Extended Guarantee - Dead-on-Arrival (DOA) + 7 day Extended Guarantee

The following conditions must be met as part of our DOA Extended Guarantee.

1. We think the temperature-range guarantee is crap. We offer a full guarantee regardless of outside temperatures as long as one condition is met. You must notify us in your order if the temperature will be below 40 or above 90 degrees or the guarantee is void. It is your responsibility to notify us when placing your order if temperatures are outside of the preferred shipping conditions or the guarantee is void. We do this so that we can pack the appropriate hot or cold packs for the comfort of the animal(s).
    
2. We do not guarantee animals that are not signed for on the first delivery attempt. Someone must be there and sign for the delivery. If you would like the shipment to be left at a Fed Ex facility for you to pick up after school or work, please let us know in the comments section of your order. Note that this applies to Saturday delivery also.
    
3. You must provide us with an accurate and valid address. Failure to include important details of your address will void the guarantee.
    
4. You must take a picture of the deceased animal for confirmation purposes and our shipping box label MUST be included in the pictures. 

Your order is a legally binding contract. By placing your order you acknowledge that you have read, fully understand, and agree to our terms of sale. We are not responsible for customers that ignore these terms of sale.
