Red Head Agamas (Agama agama) are native to Africa where they live in dry, barren, rocky deserts.

Size of a Red Head Agama

Maximum size: 14”

Feeding a Red Head Agama

Diet should consist of crickets, mealworms, or waxworms coated with a high quality calcium and multi-vitamin supplement.

Caging Requirements for a Red Head Agama

Housing/Habitat: Red Head Agamas should be housed in a dry terrarium with an under tank heating pad at one end and soft sand or desert mix substrate. Landscape to simulate rocky habitats, provide hiding places, and basking areas.

Temperature range: Day 85°-95° F Night 75°-85° F Basking 105° F

Lighting: Full spectrum florescent UV bulbs and a basking light are required.

Food: Water: A bowl of fresh, clean water should be provided daily and mist moderately each morning.
