Panther Gecko, Anerythristic Morph for Sale

Panther Geckos (Paroedura pictus) are nocturnal lizards that are native to the dry thorn forests of Madagascar. They become active at dusk when they emerge from their hiding places to feed. The Madagascar Ground Gecko’s attractive appearance combined with its ease of care makes it an excellent pet. These lizards can be housed in small groups with only one male per group.

Maximum size: 5-6”

Feeding a Panther Gecko

Crickets, mealworms and waxworms coated in calcium and vitamin powder. Young ground geckos should be fed small amounts several times a day until they reach maturity.

Caging Requirements for a Panther Gecko

Housing/Habitat: An aquarium equipped with an under tank heating pad, with jungle mix or orchid bark as a substrate. Landscape to simulate their natural habitat with plenty of hiding places. Damp sphagnum moss or orchid bark should be placed under the hiding places.

Lighting: Specialized reptile lights for viewing nocturnal animals would be a good choice for night. A basking light utilized during the day and turned off at night will keep the temperature in the proper range and allow for the required temperature drop at night.

Temperature: Day 85°-92°F Night 70°-75°F

Water: A shallow dish of clean water should always be available.

Humidity: It is important to mist the substrate beneath the hiding places to keep it slightly damp and provide some extra humidity.
