Information and Care Sheet for the Desert Iguana

Desert Iguanas ( Dipsosaurus dorsalis) is one of the most common lizards of the Sonoran and Mojave deserts of the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico. They also occur on several Gulf of California islands. The are medium-sized lizards with a blunt heads. The tail is about 1 ½ times the length of the body. They are brownish in color on their dorsal side with tan/gray spots that move all the way to the tail, which is encircled with rows of dark spots.
