Information and Care Sheet for the Schneiders Skink

Schneider's Skink or (Berber Skink) ,(Eumeces schneideri) is a species of skink found in central and west Asia and north Africa. It is named after the German zoologist, Johann Gottlob Schneider.

Size of a Schneider's Skink

12 to 14 inches, including tail.

Feeding a Schneider's Skink

Variety of insects. Canned cat food and some fruit may also be eaten.

Caging Requirements for Your Schneider's Skink

Housing/Habitat: 20 gallon (or larger) aquarium or similar type cage with a few inches of clean sand as substrate - they like to burrow. Flat stones or cork bark for hiding. temperature gradient of 85F (cool side) to 100F basking area with UV light or unfiltered sunlight during daytime. Low humidity. Shallow water bowl.
