Cave Dwelling Rat Snake for Sale

Cave Dwelling Ratsnakes (Elpahe t. ridleyi) are easily kept, and most people don't find them difficult to breed. inhabits limestone caves, occasionally venturing to the cave entrance. It is considered a specialised subspecies of the more widespread Elaphe taeniura. They have a yellow to beige background color that darkens to a grey-black towards the tail. A white to cream mid-dorsal stripe starts about half of the way down the body and continues to the tip of tail. Both sides of the head are marked just behind the eye with a black stripe surrounded by blue. It preys mainly on bats. The species occurs in southern Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia.

Cave Dwelling Ratsnakes are greedy feeders so it is usually not a problem getting them to eat. Adults can be fed large mice or rats every 10 to 14 days.

Caging Requirements for a Cave Dwelling Ratsnake

Housing/Habitat: A single Cave Dwelling RatSnake can live comfortably in a 48''x24''x24'' cage but more space the better, particularly with more than one rat snake sharing a vivarium. Use a substrate of either newspaper or aspen shavings and have a waterbowl big enough for the snake to occasionally soak in. The decoration of the vivarium can be as elaborate or simple as you please

Temperature: Desired temps are 68-72f with a slight night time drop.
