Information and Care Sheet for the Brazilian Black Tarantula
The Brazilian Black Tarantula (Grammostola pulchra) is a terrestrial tarantula native to Brazil. It tends to live a long life and has a reputation for being docile and gentle in temperament, as well as an appealing dark coloration. Mature specimens are almost entirely black. Although like most new world tarantulas it possesses urticating hairs it is said to have a reduced tendency to kick them off when handled. The Brazilian Black is a slow grower, taking up to seven years to reach maturity.

Caging Requirements for the Brazilian Black Tarantula
Housing/Habitat: 10 gallon tank with lots of floor space. Peat moss or potting soil for substrate. Shallow, wide water dish.
Temperatures: 75 - 85 degrees
Humidity: 75 to 80%
